Who We Are
We are a group of three artists who enjoy pyrography. We each have a different history with this hobby but we all love it equally. We wanted to share our interests with the world and we hope to introduce new people to this form of art. We believe that anyone can participate in wood burning and if you think it looks like fun we encourage you to give it a shot! We encourage anyone to ask us questions or ask for advice.
When we spoke with some new pyrograpghy artists we asked them lots of questions about their experience. What we found is that many of them were intimidated when trying to start out. They were unsure of the methods and techniques they should learn as well as what tools they needed. We hope to share the wealth of knowledge we have with beginners and experienced artists. One of our goals is to make this art form more approachable to people interested in the craft. When we looked around online we couldn’t find the information we were seeking so we decided to create and compile it ourselves. We have started the task of reviewing tools and equipment needed for this craft and we hope to give everyone some great advice on what to use and what to avoid!
Our wish is to make Pyrography World a gathering for everything that you could want to know about our passion. We hope to post guides on how to progress from a beginner to advanced levels. We also will be posting reviews on this site as a buyer’s guide to help our readers make informed decisions. After searching online for these specialized tools it can be overwhelming to try to compare them all and find out what is best for your specific needs. We hope to simplify this process and compile all of the best information in one place. It is our hopes that this will make pyrography more appealing to a prospective artist.
Our team is currently made up of three artists – Jim, Susan, and Matthew. We all share in the efforts to make Pyrography World what it is. Together we have a vast amount of experience in the craft and we hope to share with you what we’ve learned!
